Description
Basic Function
Content Development:
- Instructional designer for online learning. Work with subject matter experts to acquire content needed for online learning delivery. Using eLearning authoring software, develop eLearning content including courses, microlearning modules, learning games, simulations, assessments, and other online learning activities.
- Development includes application of adult learning methodologies and effective UX design.
- Development includes layout and design, script writing, audio/video recording and editing, video integration, graphic design and animation, interactivity creation, branching scenarios, quiz development, game development and publishing of content.
- Creation of materials for attachment to the online learning content such as, course handouts, narration scripts for accessibility, job aids, and other content specific information.
- Developing and publishing of content for SCORM compliance and responsive design to accommodate mobile delivery. Annual content reviews to update courses and curriculum.
- Content development and design for gamified learning program, including development of online learning content, promotional graphics, and specific gaming elements such as scoring and leaderboard strategies.
- Review and proof content created by other content developers for accuracy, functionality, etc.
Content Upload and Documentation:
Upload of content to the Express University Online web site, including eLearning content, videos, recorded webinars, and training session materials. Apply credit hours, course description, and course categories. Discontinue courses as necessary. Merge course content with necessary. Documentation of content creation, revisions, discontinuation within internal database for tracking.
Customer and Technical Support:
Field customer questions regarding online learning content and programs. Technical support of eLearning course and EU web site technical challenges for home and/or office user computers and mobile technologies. Troubleshoot issues using complex thinking and technical approach.
Digital Design:
Create visual concepts, using graphic design software, to create content elements that are interactive, informative, and captivate learners. Content elements are primarily consumed within eLearning content and also used for the promotion of online learning programs. Content elements may include, graphics, gifs, animated videos, interactive infographics, etc.
Other:
As needed - assist with various departmental special projects and act as backup to the EU Online Coordinators. If needed, participate in roleplays with the New Franchisee training class.
Typical Requirements
Computer skills required: Strong skills with Microsoft Office products, knowledge of Internet technologies. eLearning experience or comparable skills or experience, such as content layout and design for live training events. Familiar with website design, video, graphic design technology and audio recording and editing. Must have the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, have high levels of accuracy and excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with graphical design and/or audio or video production software products. Must have an understanding of varied learning styles and visual design concepts. Must have the ability to make decisions on project deliverables after meeting with subject matter experts.

Decision-Making
Oversee major projects, making decisions on the outcome and deliverable of the project. Provide expert advice to leadership on eLearning deliverables, technologies, and approaches to adult online learning. Researches and resolves issues on behalf of the team and leader. Makes decisions on training deliverables based on information received from subject matter experts.
Specialized Skill or Technical Knowledge
eLearning experience or comparable skills or experience, such as content layout and design for live training events. Familiar with video or audio technologies, or other graphic design technology and editing. Must have the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Experience with digital design and/or audio or video production software products. Knowledge of Articulate Storyline desired.
Education or Experience Required
5 years experience or degree required.
