$175,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr Our client, a leader in the outerwear industry, is looking for a Design Director - Outerwear to join their team in NYC! Responsibilities Define and lead the overall merchandising strategy to align with brand vision, drive sales, and engage the target customer. Oversee product development from concept through production, ensuring assortments support commercial goals and brand positioning. Collaborate cross-functionally with design, marketing, and sales to ensure cohesive product stories, pricing, and brand messaging. Analyze trend data, market research, and sales performance to inform product decisions and optimize merchandising strategies. Requirements Strong creative vision with expertise in trend forecasting, visual storytelling, and brand merchandising. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, PLM systems, and familiarity with 3D or AI design tools. Business acumen with a solid understanding of retail metrics, consumer behavior, and data-driven decision making. Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills with experience managing teams and multiple projects. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising, or Buying & Merchandising preferred 10+ years of experience in outerwear design merchandising roles Managerial experience preferred Seniority level
