Overview
At Intercept Music, we’re on a mission to empower independent artists and labels by giving them the tools, insights, and support they need to thrive in the modern music industry. Our platform combines AI-driven marketing, data-powered distribution, e-commerce, and engagement tools—all built for the unique challenges creators face in today’s streaming economy.
As a fast-growing startup, we wear many hats. We move quickly, build with purpose, and care deeply about the artists and labels who trust us to help them navigate an ever-changing industry. We’re looking for a versatile, talented full-stack developer to join our team—someone who’s excited by the idea of working across the stack, solving complex challenges, and helping shape the future of our platform.
This role is ideal for a developer who’s not only technically strong but also eager to grow their skillset, collaborate with our CTO (based in Oahu, Hawaii), and eventually step into greater leadership responsibilities as the company scales.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building key features of our SaaS platform, using C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
- Developing API integrations with major industry services (Spotify, Apple Music, Shopify, Zendesk, Authorize.net) to support music distribution, marketing, and sales.
- Working with Azure cloud services (Functions, App Services, Blob Storage, Queues, etc.) to ensure our platform is scalable, secure, and high-performance.
- Collaborating on front-end development using JavaScript/TypeScript and Telerik Kendo UI—delivering intuitive user experiences for artists and labels.
- Contributing to UI/UX design and light graphics work (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) to support product development and marketing initiatives.
- Handling music industry-specific challenges like metadata standards (DDEX, XML, JSON), rights management, and royalty tracking.
- Working closely with the CTO and cross-functional teams to define and execute technical solutions that align with business goals.
- Thinking strategically about architecture, performance, and scalability as we grow.
- Embracing a startup mindset—comfortable with ambiguity, wearing multiple hats, and helping where needed.
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills
- 4+ years of professional experience in SaaS/cloud-based development
- Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, SQL Server
- Strong understanding of Azure services (Functions, App Services, Blob Storage, etc.)
- JavaScript/TypeScript expertise, ideally with Telerik Kendo UI experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills—able to translate technical ideas into business value
Bonus Skills
- Knowledge of the music industry, distribution workflows, DDEX, and metadata standards
- Experience with UI/UX design and tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva
- Familiarity with third-party services like Spotify, Apple Music, Shopify, Zendesk, Authorize.net
- Understanding of authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect)
