Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 9 years of experience in global marketing programs. 2 years of experience managing people or teams. Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's Degree, or MBA, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in the media and entertainment industry (e.g., streaming video/audio, TV, film, publishing, sports media). Experience in marketing for media and entertainment apps or platforms, particularly in areas like subscription growth, churn reduction, content marketing, or partner marketing. Experience in omni-channel marketing campaigns. Experience with product launches and driving product adoption at scale. Understanding of digital content ecosystems, platform dynamics, and monetization models (Subscription, Ad-supported, IAP) relevant to media and entertainment.

Within Play, the Media and Entertainment category, encompassing streaming video, music, books, news, sports, and emerging formats like Drama Shorts is strategically vital for user engagement and ecosystem growth. The Apps Go-To-Market (GTM) team creates marketing programs that cultivate valuable relationships with various user base and help them get the most out of Play.
As the Head of Media and Entertainment GTM, you are a leader responsible for setting the direction for the media and entertainment app category's GTM efforts on Google Play. You will represent the customer and act as the market expert, bridging product strategy, GTM partnership efforts, and user adoption. Leveraging deep expertise in the media and entertainment industry landscape, user trends (including content discovery tests and churn drivers), and Play's capabilities, you will craft compelling narratives, develop impactful strategies, influence executive leaders, and drive significant growth in this dynamic category. You are motivated to get things done, view obstacles as exciting tests, foster a team environment, and enjoy working collaboratively across different roles to bring great experiences to users.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$245,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
Define and lead the GTM strategy for Play's media and entertainment app category, drive user adoption, engagement, and spend. Lead research to generate deep insights into media and entertainment user needs, behaviors, content consumption patterns across platforms, and discovery tests. Collaborate with and influence executive leaders and regional teams to build and execute integrated GTM plans. Define requirements, advocate for product features and platform capabilities to address media and entertainment developer and user pain points. Define, track, and analyze key media and entertainment category performance indicators related to spend, engagement, churn, and developer satisfaction. Utilize data analysis and experimentation to test hypotheses, optimize GTM programs, and make data-driven recommendations to achieve category objectives and key results. Act as the key GTM expert and represent the media and entertainment category, influence product roadmaps and partner strategies.
