About the Role
Working at the heart of a fast-paced fashion business, a Visual Merchandiser will create an environment that inspires customers to explore their personal style. This role will support and guide the store team to deliver the most inspiring and exciting Customer Experience in line with the H&M brand and values. You actively drive sales in the store and are responsible for implementing the Visual Identity. The Visual Merchandiser will meet the expectations of customers & colleagues at all times, as well as following all H&M procedures & standards.
This position reports to our Store Visual Manager (based on volume) or the Store Manager.
Your Day to Day
Sales and Profit
The Visual Merchandiser will set the garment presentation on the Sales Floor & Windows according to the Commercial Handbook. Together with the Department Manager, the Visual Merchandiser will determine additional commercial opportunities within the store following the H&M brand guidelines. The role will execute floor moves based on those joint decisions.
Fashion Knowledge
- Ensure you stay updated with current fashion trends.
- Share, inspire, and educate the store team on seasonal trends, upcoming campaigns, and brand standards.
Direct Customer Service
- Meet customer expectations on direct service according to H&M standards.
- Support the store in achieving an excellent customer experience.
Indirect Customer Service
- Implement the H&M Visual Identity through the Commercial Handbook, ensuring well-styled mannequins both in windows and in-store.
- Create a cohesive visual story from windows to the selling area with wearable suggestions.
- Maintain high-quality garment presentation daily with the store team.
- Manage customer flow through fixture placement and navigation in line with H&M standards.
- Launch and maintain sales campaigns and activities timely and according to standards.
Commercial Routines
- Follow up on Store KPIs with the Department Manager and initiate actions to meet store goals and budgets.
- Adjust store planning based on store needs and the commercial plan.
- Complete and act on the Customer Experience Tool to maximize commercial opportunities.
Visual Store Operations Routines
- Execute sample picking and floor moves to create clear stories and buying suggestions.
- Complete daily morning routines on the sales floor and windows before opening.
- Ensure proper condition and quantity of visual props and marketing materials, with a focus on sustainability.
- Keep visual areas organized and safe.
- Maintain current visual materials and inform the team about seasonal changes.
- Perform window painting and maintenance as necessary.
People and Teams
Support the store team in enhancing customer and staff experience through coaching and development. Ensure compliance with legal requirements and H&M policies.
Training and Development
- Develop the visual and commercial skills of the store team via regular visual training.
- Oversee and give feedback during floor moves with the team.
- Identify potential future Visual Merchandisers for succession planning.
Communication and Legal Requirements
- Ensure all visual and store communications comply with local legislation.
Security
- Work according to H&M standards and local safety and security routines to ensure safety for everyone in the store.
- Follow all safety, security, and administrative procedures.
Qualifications

- Enjoy multitasking in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- 1-2+ years of transferable experience is welcome.
- Ability to lift over 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, stretch, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to climb ladders and use step stools.
- Comfortable working with hand and power tools (e.g., iron, steamer).
- Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Willingness to travel to support other stores if needed.

Job Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Compensation: Range $17.73 - $19.95 per hour
