EDUCATION
An Associate's degree or a minimum of two (2) years of higher education is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Must possess a valid Texas driver's license.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of seven (7) years of grant development and submission experience with private foundations, and state and federal funding sources in higher education.
Experience obtaining grants from federal, state, and local funding sources.
Experience leading teams of grant developers.
Experience delivering grants development classes to college faculty and staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent communication skills, including writing routine reports and correspondence, and speaking effectively before groups.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as the federal register, application guidelines, and OMD Circulars.
Ability to develop budgets for grant operations based on guidelines and regulations, including calculating figures and amounts.
Problem-solving skills to address practical issues with limited standardization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other database applications.
Occasional overnight travel within the state required.
