is seeking a Data Analytics and Visualization Manager to support the Chicago Department of Water’s multi-billion Capital Improvement Program (CIP). This key position within the Applied Technologies team will lead efforts to transform engineering, operations, and maintenance data into actionable insights, enhancing public service. The role involves applying data science and engineering techniques, developing visualization dashboards based on sound HCI and UI/UX principles, and supporting digital transformation initiatives including AI integration. The responsibilities include: Supporting DWM in data acquisition, quality assurance, and management. Developing and maintaining data pipelines and supporting data transformation needs. Creating and updating standard operating procedures. Performing complex data analyses to identify trends and insights, utilizing advanced analytics and machine learning techniques. Maintaining and enhancing data visualization dashboards to facilitate decision-making. Innovating visualization tools using state-of-the-art HCI and UI/UX design techniques. Assisting in digital transformation efforts, including AI and augmented reality integration. Providing technical oversight for project implementation. Participating in project presentations and managing project compliance with schedule, budget, and quality standards. Supervising technical staff and guiding project delivery. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in informatics, data science, computer science, or related field, with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent. Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, R, Python, and SQL. Experience in database management and data modeling. Relevant certifications or the ability to obtain them within six months. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or advanced certifications. 4+ years leading teams of up to four members. 6+ years of progressive relevant experience. Strong interpersonal, client interaction, public speaking, and project management skills.
