Position Summary
The Coordinator of Social Video Content will work closely with the WCMU Marketing team to develop, curate, and create videos that inform high school students and early job seekers on social media platforms about in-demand careers in hospitality, healthcare, and maintenance and repair. This position has been created through grant support from the American Graduate: Jobs Explained program.
Required Qualifications
Social Video Content Coordinator I (BH-1)
High School Diploma or GED .
Two years of experience in digital video production or social media content creation, or a related field.
Proficiency in creating content for social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube Shorts.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and/or other video editing software.
Demonstrated strength as an on-camera personality.
Ability to travel to video shoots as needed.
Strong creative thinking skills, with the ability to analyze current platform trends and develop innovative storytelling approaches in digital video.
Solid understanding of digital metrics and KPIs, with the ability to use data to inform content strategies.
Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.
Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and written/oral communication skills.
Demonstrated writing and copy-editing skills.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Social Video Content Coordinator II (BH-2)
Possess all qualifications listed for a Social Video Specialist I (BH-1), plus:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in digital video production, multi-media, marketing, public relations, communications, or related field or a combination of education and experience that equates to four years.
One additional year of increasingly responsible work experience with key elements of the job, including on-camera situations, interviewing, vertical video development, and assisting with social media management.
Ability to consistently meet deadlines while balancing multiple projects.
Social Video Content Coordinator III (BH-3)
Possess all qualifications listed for a Social Video Specialist II (BH-2), plus:
Two additional years of increasingly responsible experience, resulting in advanced skills with key elements of the job, including confidence in on-camera situations, interviewing, vertical video development, and social media management.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in marketing, public relations, communications, multimedia or related field.
Experience with Marketing, promotion, social media management, and/or public relations in a broadcast, new media, agency, or firm environment.
Familiarity with, and an understanding of, the mission of public media.
Experience using, Constant Contact, Canva, and Google productivity apps.
Experience in social media management.
Experience with/and licensed to shoot via drone.
Duties & Responsibilities
Social Video Content Coordinator I (BH-1):
Performs the following tasks under direct supervision:
Collaborates with the project team to coordinate the development, production, and delivery of social media content, supporting the overall goals and objectives of the initiative.
Produces two–three videos each week for social video-forward platforms, often collaborating with local businesses/industries or being the on-screen talent.
Manages Two Jobs Explained social media accounts (Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts), which consists of building, engaging, and interacting with an audience.
Attends weekly meetings with partner stations to share successes, best practices, and advice.
Provides internal updates on performance metrics and assists in drafting regular updates and reports for the project funder.
Archives videos on a regular basis and manages a content tracking spreadsheet.
May act as an on-air host for local fundraising efforts as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Social Video Content Coordinator II (BH-2):
Performs all duties and responsibilities of the Social Video Specialist I (BH-1) under limited supervision and with increased confidence and proficiency.
Social Video Content Coordinator III (BH-3):
Performs all duties and responsibilities of the Social Video Specialist II (BH-2) under very limited to no supervision and with advanced confidence and proficiency.
