Job Title: Adjunct Professor of Art + Design
Reporting Relationship: Chair/Dean of Department
Department: Art + Design
Summary of Position: Within Art + Design, adjunct faculty are essential to providing a quality academic experience for Indiana Wesleyan University students. Adjuncts will employ a range of engaging teaching strategies designed to foster student learning and stimulate class discussion. Applicants must have appropriate academic and/or professional experience within the given academic discipline, demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning, and be able to integrate their Christian faith into the classroom content.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend and lead all required class sessions
- Promptly assess student coursework and submit via the university’s learning management system
- Coordinate with Division Chair and/or Academic Dean regarding classroom or student issues in a timely manner
- Provide input into course curriculum as appropriate
Qualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.
Education
- Candidates will ideally hold a graduate degree in the field of art or design
- Substantial professional experience in the subject(s) to be taught may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree

- Candidates must demonstrate a strong record of teaching, scholarship, service, and dedication to the ideals of liberal learning, as well as an educational philosophy based on the centrality of Jesus Christ and the integration of faith and learning
