Job Description: Parsons is seeking an talented Design Manager for Heavy Civil Water Infrastructure Projects to join our team. In this role, you will help build and lead a team of multidisciplinary professionals supporting a major water project in Southern Nevada.
If you are an experienced technical design manager or senior project manager with major water infrastructure capital projects, and are passionate about quality design, we want to talk with you! We are looking for a leader who inspires loyalty and commitment, with experience in project execution to lead technical teams in Nevada. The projects include new infrastructure, water resources, conservation initiatives, and upgrades to existing water systems. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to Nevada.
What You'll Be Doing:
Support a water agency in Southern Nevada serving over 2.2 million residents.
Manage water treatment, delivery, and long-term water resource projects.
Oversee design processes, monitor technical aspects, coordinate with contractors and owners, and manage design during construction.
Perform engineering computations, review plans and specifications for water projects.
Conduct independent engineering analyses.
Manage contracted engineering firms.
Identify project needs and exercise judgment in execution.
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Supervise, train, and evaluate technical staff.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Proficiency in hydraulic modeling, spreadsheets, and word processing.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with Nevada PE License.
15+ years of experience, including design management and project delivery on public water infrastructure projects.
Senior technical experience in potable water system design, hydraulic modeling, pump selection, and standards.
Knowledge of waterworks design methods, laws, and regulations.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience managing water/wastewater capital projects.
Proven leadership in managing design teams.
Strong communication skills.
