Information Specialist (Librarian Reference)
Zimmerman Associates, Inc. is searching for an Information Specialist (Librarian) to support a project in the Denver, CO area. The qualified candidate will have 5 years of experience in providing customer service, including direct and virtual email reference services.
Responsibilities include:
- Applying research methods and practices to identify and retrieve information (through traditional and online reference tools), especially in Law and Criminal Justice areas.
- Providing professional-level (Librarian) support for client reference and information management services in multiple formats such as email, web forms, paper mail, phone, etc.
- High skill in communicating verbally and in writing to top government officials.
- Knowledge of Reference Databases.
- Supporting content maintenance, operation, and updating of a shared knowledgebase of frequently asked questions.
- Supporting the preparation of statistical and analytical reports related to reference services, application management, and use of the knowledge base resources.
- Maintaining lists of resources, publications, websites, etc. on various topics.
- Knowledge of updating blogs and social media sites.
- Reviewing and updating standard response templates in collaboration with other reference and supervisory staff.
- Assisting in the review of new materials for potential inclusion within the knowledge base or for potential distribution to staff for current awareness.
- Providing input and consultation on upgrades and/or repairs to the website based on user input and comments received.
- Making recommendations for improvements and enhancements to the Internet and Intranet sites to increase usability and accessibility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MLS degree from an accredited school required.
