Position Title:
Lecturer Pool – Fashion Merchandising and Management
We seek instructors from the global fashion industry, including management, marketing, buying, advertisement, promotion, manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, retailing, and design. Familiarity or experience with the contemporary and historical ways of meeting the economic, physiological, aesthetic, psychological, sociological, and cultural needs of consumers related to fashion products is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours.
- Additional duties as assigned based on departmental needs.
- Course assignments, including dates, times, and modality, are determined by the Department Chair under the College Dean's supervision.
Employment Details:
Part-time lecturers are instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Hires are made when instructional needs arise due to enrollment patterns, faculty changes, or other factors. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, with possible renewal based on department needs, funding, and performance.
Rank and Salary:
Initial rank and salary depend on professional experience and educational background, determined by the hiring department. Most new lecturers are hired at Lecturer A or B rank. As of July 2024, salary ranges are based on a full-time rate (15 WTUs), prorated according to units worked. Example: a Lecturer A assigned 3 units at the minimum salary would earn approximately $6,608.40 for the semester.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Doctorate degree and teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
