Brunswick County Library System is seeking a motivated and community-focused individual to join our team as a Librarian – Bookmobile Manager. The Librarian – Bookmobile Manager performs supervisory and administrative work overseeing the operations of the Bookmobile, supporting our mission to provide accessible, high-quality library services. This role blends library expertise with community outreach and mobile service coordination. Key responsibilities include:
- Driving the Bookmobile to scheduled locations
- Assisting patrons with library services
- Supervising staff
- Planning special programs
- Strengthening community connections
The successful candidate will:
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver mobile library services
- Manage staff and ensure exceptional customer service
- Assign and review work, provide training, evaluate performance, and make personnel recommendations
- Develop and implement outreach programs
- Maintain usage and circulation records
- Serve as a positive representative of the library
This role requires:
- Independent judgment and strong interpersonal skills
- A commitment to expanding outreach to ensure library services are accessible throughout the community
Minimum qualifications include:
- A Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited college or university, and two years of professional library experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- The ability to operate library systems and office equipment
- Physical ability to work, move, or carry objects or materials, including exerting up to twenty pounds of force occasionally and up to ten pounds frequently
