What You Will Be Doing

As an Operations & Maintenance Technical Data Author at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, you will support the sustainment of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter by developing and maintaining high-quality technical publications. You will transform complex engineering data into clear, user-focused maintenance instructions used by military personnel worldwide. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that technical documentation accurately reflects current aircraft configurations and supports operational readiness. This role combines technical aptitude with a passion for precision, contributing to one of the most advanced aircraft programs globally.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop, write, and maintain Operations & Maintenance (O&M) interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs) for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.
2. Interpret and incorporate engineering data, supplier documents, and customer requirements into clear, concise technical instructions.
3. Utilize Lockheed Martin’s XML-based authoring tools and content management systems to produce and revise technical publications.
4. Ensure documentation aligns with engineering configurations, safety standards, and contractual requirements.
5. Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and customer support teams to gather and validate technical data.
6. Conduct validation and verification (V&V) of technical content for accuracy, usability, and compliance.
7. Review feedback from field users and stakeholders to update and improve technical publications.
8. Maintain version control and track changes throughout the document lifecycle.
9. Stay updated on F-35 aircraft system changes to ensure documentation remains current.
