Schedule:9/80 - Employees work 9 out of every 14 days (totaling 80 hours) with every other Friday off.
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced PCB Layout Designer to support advanced electronic system development, including rigid, flexible, and rigid-flex circuit board designs. This role is instrumental in producing high-quality PCB layouts that meet complex mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing requirements. The position reports directly to the PCB Design Manager and works closely with cross-functional engineering teams to support full product lifecycle design efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use industry-standard design tools (e.g., Mentor PADS) to integrate schematic, mechanical, and manufacturing inputs into PCB layout designs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to address fabrication, assembly, and testing concerns using DFM tools such as Valor NPI.
- Maintain up-to-date design documentation including BOMs, schematics, mechanical drawings, and assembly data within a PLM system.
- Ensure consistency across PCB packages by validating alignment between all design elements (schematics, BOMs, layouts, and assembly drawings).
- Support both new product introductions and updates to legacy designs.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant PCB design experience, or
- Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years of PCB design experience, or
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience in PCB design.
- Familiarity with PLM systems (e.g., Agile, Teamcenter)
- Solid understanding of PCB design components including schematics, BOMs, mechanical interfaces, fabrication, and assembly data
- Experience with SMT and through-hole components and layout practices
- Direct collaboration experience with multidisciplinary engineering teams (e.g., electrical, mechanical, manufacturing)
- Proficiency in PCB design tools such as PADS, Xpedition, Cadence, or Valor
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field is a plus.
