Summary NAB is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the Public Affairs team in media relations, digital communications and content development. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, highly organized and skilled at leveraging social media and digital tools to enhance engagement and advocacy. This person thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to high-profile policy communications efforts supporting local TV and radio stations. This person would report to the Senior Manager, Communications and Social Media.
Essential Functions Writing and Media Relations Support Draft press releases, talking points, op-eds, blog posts and other written content on key issues. Help craft messaging that supports NAB’s advocacy efforts and policy priorities. Ensure all written materials align with NAB’s voice and follow AP style. Assist in responding to reporter inquiries. Social Media and Digital Engagement Draft and post content for NAB’s social media channels (X, LinkedIn, Meta etc.) Monitor social media for policy trends, industry news and engagement opportunities. Assist in developing digital elements to promote NAB’s advocacy efforts. Track social media analytics to optimize content strategy. Leverage AI tools to support content creation, media monitoring and audience engagement, identifying ways to enhance efficiency and improve NAB’s digital outreach. Media Monitoring, Events and Press Support Compile and distribute daily news clips on broadcasting, public policy and NAB initiatives. Track NAB’s media coverage, preparing reports and campaign recaps. Maintain and update press lists with key journalists and media outlets. Distribute press releases, statements and media materials via email and digital platforms. Other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Four-year degree and 1-3 years of experience in communications, public relations or media (internships included). Strong writing and editing skills for media and digital content. Familiarity with media monitoring tools. Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. Preferred Education and Experience Experience managing social media and analytics. Work Location and Schedule Availability to work hybrid work schedule which includes at least three days (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) in the Washington D.C. office. Ability to travel domestically up to 5% of the time. NAB is an equal opportunity employer.
