The Goldwater Institute is seeking a proactive, media-savvy Media Relations Manager to amplify our policy work and litigation efforts across national and local news outlets. This role is central to securing earned media coverage and positioning Goldwater experts as leading voices on issues of liberty and constitutional rights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Earned Media Coverage: Pitch stories, book interviews, and place op-eds to ensure consistent coverage of Goldwater’s policy initiatives and legal cases in print, digital, radio, and TV outlets.
- Cultivate Media Relationships: Build and maintain strong connections with reporters, editors, producers, and columnists at influential national and regional outlets.
- Proactive and Reactive Outreach: Monitor news developments and identify opportunities for timely comment, expert placement, or narrative shaping aligned with Goldwater’s mission.
- Message Execution: Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, talking points, and statements to communicate key developments and thought leadership.
- Media Support: Coordinate interviews, prepare spokespeople, and provide real-time support to ensure message consistency and impact.
- Track Results: Monitor media coverage and assess effectiveness of outreach strategies to inform future efforts.
