Job Summary
We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Media Buyer to lead the execution and optimization of our paid media strategy. This is not a generalist marketing role—it requires deep, proven expertise in planning and managing high-performing ad campaigns across digital platforms like Google Ads, Meta, and LinkedIn, with added value if you have experience in print, trade media, radio, or TV. The ideal candidate is someone who has spent years in the trenches of paid advertising, with a sharp eye for data, a track record of maximizing ROI, and the ability to independently manage campaigns from end to end.
In this role, you’ll take full ownership of media buying activities—setting up campaigns, optimizing in real time, managing budgets, and reporting on performance using tools like Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and platform-specific dashboards. You’ll be expected to bring both strategic insight and executional excellence, identifying opportunities for improvement and pushing campaigns to perform at their best. Key Responsibilities
- Media Planning & Strategy
- Develop and execute data-driven media plans that align with company goals and budget constraints.
- Conduct audience research and select the most effective media channels (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn).
- Collaborate with creative teams to integrate compelling ad creatives into campaigns.
- Media Buying & Execution
- Manage media budgets and ensure campaigns are executed within the allocated budget.
- Optimize campaign performance by analyzing data and making adjustments as needed.
- Set up and manage campaigns across major platforms and ensure accurate tracking via pixels, UTMs, and Google Tag Manager.
- Optimization & Performance Management
- Track and analyze KPIs to ensure campaign effectiveness and make data-backed optimization decisions.
- Execute A/B testing and advanced techniques to continually improve performance.
- Reporting & Insights
- Generate reports and present actionable insights to stakeholders using tools like Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and platform-specific dashboards.
- Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media vendors.
- Negotiate competitive rates and ensure timely, quality media placements.

- Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Analytics or related field.
- Experience: 3-5+ years of professional experience managing and optimizing campaigns independently, applying expertise in PPC, SEM, and paid social media advertising strategies across traditional and non-traditional media.
- Expertise in managing budgets, optimizing campaigns, and analyzing performance data.
- Proven experience with tracking tools (pixels, UTMs, Google Tag Manager).
- Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
- Travel: Ability to travel 10% of time to our Marshfield, WI Headquarters or industry events (on average once per month for 2-3 days at a time.)
- Preferred:
- Experience in product marketing, manufacturing, distribution, or B2B roles.
- Experience managing advertising budgets of $10,000+ per month.
- Experience working with a catalog of 10,000 or more products.
- Background in traditional print media buying and rate negotiation.
- Familiarity with basic HTML/CSS skills.
