Position Summary
Job Location: This position is on site in Highland Park, IL
Hours: Part-time (20 hours per week). The hours include Monday evenings, and a rotating weekend (Saturday and Sunday) once per month.
Compensation: $25.00 - $30.16 per hour based on education, previous work experience, and training

Responsibilities:
- Support patrons on finding information and reader's services at a busy public desk
- Demonstrate, assist and instruct members in the use of information technologies and library equipment, such as the online catalog, online databases, Web resources, microform equipment, photocopiers, scanners, computers, tablets, e-readers, and related devices and with digital collections, downloading and streaming.
- Collection development and maintenance of assigned areas
- Participate in community collaborative and outreach activities. Serve as liaison to schools, business community, Park District, City of Highland Park, and other community organizations and agencies, as assigned.
- Program development, implementation, and evaluation
- Assist in the development and maintenance of department documents, forms and procedures and the intranet Site.
- Person-in-charge (PIC) duties including partnering with manager to open and close the library
Requirements:
- 1+ year librarian experience
- Experience at a public library a plus
- Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) ability is desired
- Knowledge of nonfiction and international collections
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with the public
- Experience with content management systems is desirable
