Hauser & Wirth is one of the world’s leading commercial galleries for modern and contemporary art with locations across the US, UK, Europe and Asia. We are currently seeking anAssistant Editorto join the editorial team ofUrsula, the gallery’s magazine of contemporary culture.
Responsibilities include:
- Top-edit, copy edit and proofreadUrsula’s print and digital content
- Assist in writing headlines, captions, introductions and other copy for both print and digital platforms
- Compile and edit recurring magazine sections including the table of contents, contributor bios and other standard elements
- Maintain correspondence with writers, artists, liaisons and other key contacts throughout the editorial process, including the tracking and updating of text corrections
- Oversee image research and secure rights and credits for editorial use; provide assets, captions and credits to the Digital Content, Marketing, Distribution and Social Media teams regularly
- Collaborate with the Digital Content team to digitize print content and develop digital-only features on an ongoing basis
- Assist in conceiving and commissioning editorial content
- Manage invoice processing related to editorial activities
- Serve as the initial point of contact for internalUrsula-related inquiries from global cross-departmental teams
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience in a similar editorial role
- Demonstrated proficiency in editing, proofreading and fact-checking
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Proven ability to multitask and collaborate across departments
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and CMS platforms is desirable, though not essential—we value a willingness to learn
