General Responsibilities:
*Provide individual assistance to patrons both in-person and online.
*Staff the reference desk and help coordinate reference desk schedules, procedures, and service quality.
*Maintain and update online and print research guides and instructional materials to improve access to library resources.
*Lead outreach initiatives including library displays, campus events, flyers, and social media engagement.
*Provide assistance for interlibrary loan services.
*Provide information literacy instruction and professional development through classes and workshops.
*Participate in collection development and cataloging of library resources.
*Serve as a liaison to assigned academic departments, supporting faculty and participating in the embedded librarian program as needed.
*Engage in college-wide committees, special projects, and task forces.
*Evening hours and travel to other UA-PTC locations may be required.
*Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned.Qualifications:
RequiredQualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science (MLS) or equivalent from an ALA-accredited institution.
- At least one year of professional experience providing reference services.
- Engaging written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups including students, faculty, and staff.
- The ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently.
- Commitment to customer service and a passion for librarianship.
Additional Qualifications:
- Proficiency with technologies, including integrated library systems (ILS), LibGuides, Canva, and AI tools such as ChatGPT.
- Knowledge of trends and best practices in academic librarianship and outreach.
- Ability to collect and analyze data to assess outreach efforts and user engagement
