Job Description The candidate will perform layout design for an advanced technology test chip. Responsibilities include custom ring oscillators and other macros using standard cells and full-custom transistor-level layout. The candidate should be familiar with Cadence Virtuoso and Calibre DRC/LVS/ERC/Perc tool sets, capable of independently floorplanning and debugging DRC/LVS issues. Experience with creating LEF abstracts from Virtuoso and scripting for text file modifications is a plus. Experienced mask layout designer to fulfill cell and block level roles working on custom memory (SRAM) designs. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Complete mask design layout tasks for custom memory circuits (SRAM) in a leading-edge, FINFET process. Responsibilities include floorplanning, placement, routing, verification, and layout database release. Provide accurate schedules and plans to meet project milestones. Debug complex verification issues. Use Cadence Virtuoso and ICManage library system to create designs. Create layouts ensuring schematic/layout connectivity is maintained. Follow team standards for hierarchy, templates, structure, pins, floorplan, and track plan. Collaborate with circuit engineers for design planning and optimization. Required Competencies: Virtuoso Layout capture Calibre physical verification tools (LVS, DRC) Familiarity with SRAM block construction UNIX Cadence Virtuoso Additional Competencies: Ability to write SKILL code is a plus but not required. Minimum Qualifications: At least 10 years of industry experience Experience with FINFET technology Experience with custom memory layout Physical Requirements: Frequent transport between offices, buildings, and campuses up to a mile. Frequent transport and installation of equipment up to 5 lbs. Tasks performed at various heights (standing or sitting). Monitor and utilize computers and test equipment for over 6 hours daily. Continuous communication with colleagues, customers, and vendors. Additional Notes Candidate must be located in San Diego with a hybrid work schedule. 8-12 years of experience preferred.
