Direct message the job poster from Skyrocket Ventures Recruiting Director at Skyrocket Ventures Sr. to Lead Video Software Engineer - AI Video Security Startup Sunnyvale, CA (you can work remotely up to 1x/week) The company's product involves AI, Video, Cloud Security, and IoT. The company has about 15 employees and 6 engineers. It is self-funded, ARR is several million and has been doubling year over year. The company will pay a salary up to $275k, plus equity which could be lucrative. Job Responsibilities: - Working with a tech stack that includes tech stack that includes Rust, Go (APIs), React front end, and AWS. - Ideally you will be full stack, spending about 60-70% of your time on backend engineering. Depending on your preference, you could be anywhere from 100% backend to 70% front end. - Building and scaling full stack applications, cloud infrastructure, and edge computing hardware, with a focus on video technology. - Designing, developing, and maintaining cutting-edge solutions that rely on advanced GPU programming, video processing, and cloud infrastructure. - Working with GPU programming to optimize video rendering, encoding, and processing performance. - Debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving complex technical issues related to video systems and infrastructure. - Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable and high-performance solutions. - Developing and maintaining device code in Rust, optimizing for speed and efficiency. - Ensuring high-quality, performant, and secure video delivery through cloud infrastructure. - Continuously improving the product by implementing best practices in development, testing, and deployment. - Contributing to architectural decisions and ensuring solutions are scalable and maintainable. - Keeping up to date on the latest trends and technologies in video and cloud computing. Qualifications: - Passionate about video systems. - Experience with network video recording technologies. - Strong experience with full-stack application development. - Strong understanding of GPU programming and video technology (encoding, decoding, rendering, streaming). - Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, GCP, etc.) for video delivery and storage. - Experience debugging complex software and systems. - Understanding of video compression, streaming protocols (RTSP, HLS, etc.), and network video technologies. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced team. Nice to have: - Proficiency in Rust, with experience developing network video recorder code. - Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). - Familiarity with video streaming platforms and protocols. - Experience in a fast-paced startup environment. - Experience with performance optimization in distributed systems.
