Come and join Hexagon’s dynamic product innovation team performing research and product development on technologies for products of the future that will make our communities, cities, and the world safer. This position will be part of a team building our global safety and security applications, allowing organizations within a region to manage operations, safety, and security.

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining video interface services that support various public safety and security applications.

Technologies and Skills

The following are technologies you will use or should be familiar with:

• Programming languages, frameworks, and tools: .NET, C++, C#, SQL, Visual Studio (required); JavaScript, PowerShell, Python, VS Code, Azure DevOps, GitHub (beneficial)
• Video and audio codecs: 264/AVC (required); 265/HEVC, 711 (beneficial/optional)
• Open Source and Streaming Technologies: Live555, WebRTC, RTSP, Chromium, Media Source API, ONVIF
• Networking: WebSockets, UDP, TCP, STUN, TURN, ICE
• Web technologies: HTTP, REST
• Video processing: Transcoding, transmuxing, archive playback/DVR, metadata, PTZ, camera positioning, concurrency, resource optimization
• Market knowledge: Surveillance/security cameras, Video Management Systems (Milestone, Avigilon, Genetec, Qognify)
• Security: PKI certificates, encryption/decryption, OpenSSL
• Operating Systems and Databases: Windows, Linux, PostgreSQL
• Licensing: GPL, LGPL, MPEG LA

You should also be familiar with application development lifecycle models, problem-solving techniques, and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential.
