Technical Designer
to join our Women's Contemporary Apparel team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the fit, quality, and construction of garments from initial concept through production. This role bridges the creative and technical process, translating design vision into production-ready garments while maintaining brand integrity and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with design, product development, and production teams to develop contemporary women's apparel that meets aesthetic and technical standards. Create specs and maintain accurate technical packages (tech packs), including detailed specs, construction details, and fit comments. Conduct fit sessions on live models and/or mannequins; communicate fit intent and recommend pattern corrections to ensure consistency and quality. Analyze and review sample garments for fit, construction, balance, and performance, ensuring alignment with brand standards. Identify potential production/quality issues and make appropriate recommendations while maintaining design and fit intent. Partner with overseas vendors and factories to troubleshoot construction and fit issues; provide timely and clear communication for sample corrections. Review and approve prototypes, SRS, PPS, and TOP samples according to the production calendar. Maintain organized records of technical specifications, fit history, and sample approvals. Monitor and ensure all styles adhere to compliance, quality standards, and brand guidelines. Ensure size and fit consistency within product category. Track and manage workflow and ensure seasonal deadlines are met. Stay informed on fabric properties, garment construction trends, and innovative finishing techniques relevant to contemporary women's fashion. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Production, or related field. 3+ years of technical design experience in womens contemporary apparel. Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, pattern making, and textiles. Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Full Circle, Excel, Word, Outlook. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Team player with a proactive mindset and keen attention to detail. Preferred Experience: Experience working with overseas factories and vendors. Familiarity with contemporary fashion market trends and consumer preferences. Background in both knit and woven categories with dress experience preferred.
