Job Description
The Opportunity
Provide regional and/or multi-sector leadership to ensure transportation planning subject matter, technical deliverables, and programs are delivered with a high level of quality, meeting or exceeding industry standards. Responsible for SME innovation and administration; ensuring compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations; and providing strategic direction to address current and future planning challenges in a large-scale organization.
Your Impact
- Lead complex transportation studies in modeling, analysis, GIS, air quality, land use, congestion, demand management, and multi-modal transportation.
- Develop plans and approaches for transportation projects and modes.
- Support funding efforts at local, state, and federal levels for capital and operational budgets.
- Oversee workplan goals, policies, procedures, and budgets, monitoring progress.
- Maintain industry leadership and coordinate with agencies and officials on transportation policies and funding.
- Evaluate legislation impacts and represent WSP in public and official meetings.
- Develop transportation programs, studies, and reports to support policy decisions.
- Support financial planning, modeling, and forecasting activities.
- Coordinate model development, validation, and updates, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

- Transportation planning principles, laws, regulations, and environmental issues.
- Budgeting, funding sources, and public administration.
Ability To
- Manage major planning operations and strategic initiatives.
- Develop policies, analyze problems, and communicate effectively.
- Supervise staff and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 15+ years of transportation planning experience.
- Experience with LRTP reviews and approvals.
- Technical excellence and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree preferred.
- Professional licensure/certification.
WSP Benefits and Compensation
Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, retirement, paid leave, and more. Salary range: $250,000 - $320,000, depending on experience and location.
