Amazon Music’s Developer Experience team seeks a full-stack Software Engineer experienced in React Native, mobile and web platforms, TypeScript, and GraphQL. This role involves designing and building frameworks and tools that help developers deliver top-tier music experiences globally. Responsibilities include coaching engineers, developing processes, and fostering team excellence.
The ideal candidate is passionate about experimentation and innovation, has a proven track record of delivering features and products, and is eager to own high-impact projects. Strong collaboration, solution evaluation, and communication skills are essential. The role requires deep technical knowledge, industry best practices, and meticulous attention to detail.
Key job responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain application frameworks for mobile, web, and desktop experiences.
- Design and develop tools to improve developer productivity, including linters, testing solutions, CLI tools, Git integrations, CI/CD pipelines, build workflows, and operational dashboards.
- Provide support and training to developers less familiar with React Native, TypeScript, and GraphQL.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, offer technical insights, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Stay updated with industry trends to keep tools and technologies at the cutting edge.
About The Team
The Amazon Music Visual Experience team develops the Music client app on iOS, Fire Tablets, and Android devices, impacting product features, music streaming innovations, and customer engagement. We focus on building a personalized, seamless Visual Music experience that helps discover new artists and access favorites. Our distributed systems support music apps, web players, and voice-activated experiences via Alexa, serving a global customer base.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, focusing on reliability and scalability.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience delivering complex software systems to customers.
- Knowledge in machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing.
