As an experienced Software Developer, reporting to the Team Lead and working closely with the Product Owner and Scrum team, you will implement services and features in our application suite aligned with our multi-year roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features and services within the Scrum team, prioritised by the Product Owner.
- Maintain high quality in your output and test your work thoroughly before passing to QA.
- Stay updated on existing and emerging technologies relevant to your role.
- Communicate and escalate issues clearly and promptly.
Essential Attributes
- 7+ years in software development of complex applications with a strong understanding of design principles and best practices.
- Expertise in Java development, with a solid background in design patterns, UI/UX, and understanding of design principles.
- Experience integrating with cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with build tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab, and Gradle.
- Experience writing unit tests.
- Ability to analyze requirements and understand complex business logic and technical constraints.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure compliance with development guidelines.
- Contribute to and improve DevSecOps pipelines by integrating best practices.
- Experience working in an Agile environment, actively participating in Sprint planning and ceremonies.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, with excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to learn new technologies quickly and willing to coach junior team members.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience leading development and testing teams.
- Work experience in AI/ML technologies.
- Understanding of Machine Learning tools such as Python and TensorFlow.
- Experience in the Geology domain, especially Oil and Gas.
- Undergraduate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- Agile Scrum certification.
- Experience working remotely with distributed teams.
