UI Engineering Manager - Trading

Hybrid, NYC

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager who thrives on solving complex challenges and building systems that matter - at scale. This is an opportunity to lead from the front, shaping the future of a next-generation Trading Workstation, that is at the heart of global financial markets.

Responsibilities:

• Lead & Inspire: Guide a high-performing engineering team through complex, mission-critical initiatives—mentoring, coaching, and raising the bar in everything from architecture to code quality.
• Drive Strategy: Align technology decisions with business outcomes. Own the architecture, delivery, and operation of core trading components.
• Be Hands-On: From design documents and code reviews to architectural decisions and roadmap planning, you’ll stay close to the work.
• Champion Best Practices: From CI/CD and observability to testing and cloud-native deployments, you’ll ensure we ship reliable, secure, scalable software.
• Shape the Future: Contribute to our open-source presence, share knowledge, and help us continuously evolve as a modern engineering organization.

Key Skills:

• 10+ years in software engineering with at least 3 years in technical leadership and people management.
• A strong foundation in distributed, real-time systems—ideally in a trading, market data, or financial services environment.
• Deep experience across technologies like TypeScript, GraphQL, Kafka/KStreams, and Node.js. Java is a bonus.
• A proven ability to partner closely with product, architecture, and business stakeholders.
• A leadership style rooted in empathy, curiosity, and delivery.
• Proven leadership in fostering collaborative engineering practices, mentoring, and team-building.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
