Overview
The data handling subsystem is responsible for receiving commands decoded by the Radio Frequency system, running onboard software, and interfacing all onboard electronic units including payload and mass memory.
We are seeking a Senior Data Handling Subsystem Designer responsible for:
Designing and specifying the Data Handling subsystem and related units (OBC, RTU, Mass Memory).
Designing and specifying electrical and communication interfaces among DH units and with system avionics.
Supporting the design and specification of communication protocols used by DH subsystem buses (MIL1553, CAN, SpaceWire, TTEthernet, RS232, RS422, RS485, SPI, I2C, etc.).
Procurement activities for DH subsystem and units, following subcontractor processes.
Supporting DH subsystem integration and testing (AIT) with system avionics.
Defining and specifying DH Test Benches for subsystem validation through Processor In the Loop (PIL), Hardware In the Loop (HIL), and Closed Loop tests.
Skills, experience, and qualifications required:
Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, preferably focusing on Embedded Systems or Computer Science. Relevant job experience in DHS design or testing at subsystem or unit level.
Minimum 4 years of technical knowledge in:
Multicore space-qualified microprocessors (LEON, PPC, etc.) and relevant development environments (GRMON, UBOOT, ECLIPSE).
Knowledge of space-qualified components used in DH units (Memories, FPGA, ADC, DAC, etc.).
Structured programming languages (C, C++) and Assembly language.
Real-Time Operating Systems (RTEMS, VxWorks) is a plus.
Modeling tools (Matlab/Simulink, PSPICE) are advantageous.
VHDL and FPGA synthesis tools are beneficial skills.
Proficiency in English.
Availability for short-term international work assignments.
Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse teams.
Strong team working skills.
