Position Summary
We are looking for a talented and motivated Composer/Sound Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in music composition, sound design, and audio production with a willingness to grow in areas like mixing, implementation, and recording. This is a collaborative role in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, working on land-based video slot machines played on hardware cabinets in casinos.
Job Summary
Creates, manipulates and positions audio and sound effects in media and game content. Works with creative leadership to identify audio requirements for content and then sources or creates sound effects, music and other sound components in support of the creative vision for the product. Records and blends effects, atmosphere, dialogue and other components to create sound mix for product. Partners with design and post-production staff to integrate and synchronize sound mix into final product.

Key Responsibilities
- Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) Proficiency: Must be proficient with a DAW, preferably Pro Tools or Logic Pro. A solid understanding of navigation, editing, MIDI programming, and workflow efficiency is required.
- Music Composition & Production: Should be comfortable composing original music in a variety of styles and developing it into full productions, including arranging, programming drums, and using virtual instruments. While incorporating pre-existing assets is fine when creatively appropriate, candidates should have the ability to build a composition from scratch.
- Sound Design & Implementation: Ability to design and edit sound effects for slot machine games using sound libraries, software synths, and creative processing techniques to craft engaging and polished audio assets.
- Mixing & Production: Some experience with EQ, compression, reverb, delay, and other effects is required, with a willingness to develop stronger mixing skills.
- Audio Hardware & Recording: A working knowledge of audio interfaces, signal flow, and recording techniques is expected. Familiarity with microphone setups for voiceovers, Foley, and instruments is a plus.
- Video Capture & Editing for Audio Work: Must be able to capture in-game footage from slot machines and edit video specifically for use in the DAW when composing music and designing sound effects.
- Collaboration & Feedback: Must be comfortable working closely with other audio designers, game designers, and the audio manager, taking and implementing feedback effectively.
Additional
- FMOD Experience (Bonus): Familiarity with FMOD Studio or other interactive audio middleware is a plus, but training will be provided as needed.
- Musical Instrument Proficiency (Bonus): While not required, the ability to play an instrument is highly beneficial.
- Musical Notation Proficiency (Bonus): Ability to read and write music on staff paper or in Sibelius or another notation program.
