OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs) and duopolies in 11 DMAs, such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. The stations distribute sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
TECHNICIAN – STUDIO/CONTROL ROOM – Per Diem Position
The candidate will perform various production roles, including technical director/automation, audio operator/mixing, robotics/camera operation, chyron/graphics, and floor directing. They must have a solid understanding of live production, especially news production, and be capable of operating live broadcast equipment. The role involves working in a control room environment, thinking critically under pressure, and working as part of a team. Professional and respectful interaction with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management is essential.
Requirements include a minimum of 3 years of recent experience in broadcast technician roles within control room/master control and news environments in a medium to major market. Candidates should possess excellent communication and technical skills (systems, equipment, software), a friendly and collaborative attitude, and good judgment. Physical requirements include sitting and standing for extended periods, reaching overhead, bending, squatting, and kneeling. The position supports a 24/7 operation, requiring flexibility for evenings, early mornings, weekends, overtime, holidays, and varied hours. Additional duties may be assigned. Candidates must also join the I.A.T.S.E Local 794 union.

Pursuant to pay disclosure laws, the pay rate is $43.40-48.76 per hour, depending on education, skills, experience, and location. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) after meeting eligibility, and other state-mandated time-offs, in accordance with plan documents. Union employees' benefits are governed by the collective bargaining agreement.
