Overview
Brooksource is seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI/UX Developer to elevate the visual and functional experience of our client’s documentation and internal communication platforms. This role focuses on enhancing a markdown and CSS-based documentation site while also supporting content creation and design across SharePoint and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate will blend technical proficiency with a strong eye for design, ensuring consistency, usability, and a polished user experience across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain the visual design and usability of the markdown/CSS-based documentation site to ensure a modern, intuitive user experience.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to develop and integrate new content effectively.
- Design and maintain visually cohesive and user-friendly SharePoint sites and PowerPoint presentations aligned with branding and communication standards.
- Perform basic version control tasks using GitHub, including cloning repositories, committing changes, and pushing updates.
- Promote best practices in UI/UX design, accessibility, and responsive design across internal platforms.
- Gather and incorporate feedback from team members to continuously improve the design and usability of documentation and collaboration tools.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Markdown for web-based documentation.
- Experience with GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Strong skills in SharePoint site design and PowerPoint presentation development.
- Solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in UI/UX development.
- Background in collaborating with technical or data-centric teams.
- Familiarity with static site documentation generators such as MkDocs or Docusaurus.
- Foundational knowledge of JavaScript or modern front-end frameworks such as React or Vue is a plus.
