Position Summary
We are looking for a talented Unified Communications Specialist to join our international faith-based organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our unified communications systems, ensuring seamless and efficient communication across the organization. This is a volunteer/supported position and a member of the Information & Digital Technologies team reporting to the AVL Manager.
Position Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage unified communications solutions, including VoIP, video conferencing, instant messaging, and collaboration tools. Monitor and optimize the performance of communication systems to ensure high availability and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to unified communications infrastructure. Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate communication systems with existing networks and applications. Implement and maintain security measures to protect communication systems from threats and vulnerabilities. Provide training and support to end-users on the use of unified communications tools. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and upgrades.

Embrace the vision, mission, and core values of JAARS. Proven experience as a Unified Communications Specialist or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of VoIP, SIP, and other communication protocols. Experience with unified communications platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, or Zoom. Familiarity with network infrastructure and security best practices. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP Collaboration, Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator) are a plus.
