Job Description
The Digitization Lab, located in Bizzell Memorial Library, focuses on high-quality digitization of cultural heritage materials from various collections, including the History of Science Collections and Western History Collections.
Student Library Assistants (SLAs) work independently and collaboratively to digitize diverse special collections items, perform post-processing, metadata entry, and prepare items for online digital collections. Materials include rare books, manuscripts, theses, and maps. The department provides initial training and ongoing skill development. SLAs may also perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
Required Education: Must be enrolled as a student in a combination of two terms in good standing at the University of Oklahoma. Verification of current student status is required.
- Attach Spring, Summer, and/or Fall 2025 class schedule as applicable.
Skills:
- Effective communication in written and oral English. Application and resume quality will be part of screening.
- Good computer skills, familiarity with Mac OS and Windows, ability to learn new technology/software.
- Attention to detail, ability to work independently and in a team.
- Minimum of 12 hours/week availability; hours of operation 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Physical Requirements:
- Stooping, reaching, lifting, repetitive motions, close visual acuity, ability to distinguish color variations.
Preferences:
- Interest in digital collections, experience with image processing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Acrobat), proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), photography experience.
