Are you a rising digital storyteller with a passion for video and automotive culture? Babcox Media is looking for a creative, driven Broadcast/Multimedia Journalist to join our dynamic editorial team and bring energy to our business-to-business content serving the automotive aftermarket and related industries.

You'll join a passionate team of journalists, video producers, and industry experts who love what they do—telling the stories that move the automotive aftermarket forward. Babcox Media Inc. (www.babcox.com), is an Akron, Ohio-based B2B multimedia company with concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, performance, collision, commercial fleet, dealership, engine building and tire markets.

Summary: The Broadcast/Multimedia Journalist is responsible for creating engaging written and video content and managing digital content production – website, newsletters, and social media.

Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

• Writes and edits articles for video, digital and print publication, including sourcing for images, video footage, audio clips etc.
• Works with a team to produce video content including studio-based content that may include on-camera interviews, video story packages and product-related video content, as well as audio podcasts.
• Managing the digital production process of daily website posts and newsletter deployment - maintaining the publishing calendar and planning future content.
• Works with the sales team to coordinate content for print and digital, including news product releases.
• Working with the team's graphic designer to create content-specific graphic assets.
• Reviewing Google Analytics for the latest data on website traffic.
• Moderating webinars.
• Participating in sales calls with members of the sales staff for editorial perspective.
• Traveling and covering press events for the brand.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field or comparable work experience preferred.
• One (1) years’ experience as a multi-platform journalist.
• Video Production/Hosting Experience. Is comfortable on camera for product demonstration and has strong interviewing skills for on-camera interviews with industry experts.
• Writes and edits written content for both video production and website posting.
• Knowledge and understanding of usability guidelines, as well as practical applications of SEO strategies as they relate to content.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AP style.
• Positive track record as a strong team member with the ability to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of professionalism.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Strong interviewing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to travel (up to 30% of the job).
• Ability to meet stringent deadlines.
• Must be computer proficient: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, etc.) for Mac.
• Automotive interest is highly recommended but not required.
