Overview
We are looking for a skilled freelance UI/UX designer with front-end skills.
The ideal candidate can show a mix of designs for desktop apps, mobile apps as well as examples of front-end implementations with a focus on app user interfaces.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in digital design and development, interactive multimedia design (e.g. Devine, IMD), or equivalency in years of working experience At least 4 years of working experience Fluency in Dutch (native or professional level) You live in Belgium Responsibilities
UI Design : work on user interface designs in modern design apps. We mainly use Figma but are always looking to improve our workflows. You will be working on app screen designs, design systems, website designs, assets like icons and more. UX research:
work on research tasks such as user interviews, usability testing, desk research, and stakeholder interviews Qualities
Excellence:
We are looking for a designer who can combine aesthetics in user interface design with a strong sense of usability Strong ability to learn : You are naturally curious and you constantly teach yourself new skills as the world around us changes Speed : you know how to design and iterate fast. While you will get plenty of time to iterate on your designs and reach a high quality level, we are looking for someone who knows they are a fast worker and can iterate with the speed that high-end UI design work requires. Excellent communicator , both orally and written, in English and Dutch Extra
Experience in an agency context Proven skills with multiple front-end frameworks Proven experimentation with AI coding Spanish and/or French language skills This is a contract role for one year. Possibility for part-time 60% work. Do not apply if you are not a freelancer with a registered VAT number. About Obra Studio
We’re a new design studio, aiming to become a reference in UI and digital product design. Currently led by Johan from Mexico City, we are actively looking to grow quickly in 2025. Location
This is a remote position for 100% of the time except for select team events and meeting the team together in a co-working space (Limited to a few times per year).
