POSITION SUMMARY: The Visual Merchandising Specialist reports to the Assistant General Manager and assists store leadership with merchandise presentations, planogram integrity, visual & seasonal displays, and in-store signage. Will also collaborate with the Base Camp Visual Managers on visual in-store projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Partner with department Outfitters to ensure merchandise and visual presentation standards are executed according to the Visual Merchandising Directives, maintaining brand standards.
2. Assist with visual elements such as mannequin displays, bust forms, visual scenes, endcap planogram execution, seasonal events, promotional sets, and signage across all departments including Hunting, Camping, Fishing, Marine, Watersports, Apparel, Gifts, Footwear, Rainwear, and Hunt Clothing.
3. Participate in planning and setting up local and major retail events like Spring Fishing Classic, Spring Turkey Event, Get on the Water, Fall Hunting Classic, Flannel Fest, Go Outdoors, and Santa’s Wonderland.
4. Act as a liaison with the Base Camp Visual Merchandising Team regarding department layout validations and merchandising efficiencies.
5. Assemble small vendor-provided displays when needed.
6. Ensure daily in-store displays are clean, signed, and meet brand standards.
7. Assist in training department Outfitters on merchandising skills, VMD execution, and using the SharePoint communication portal.
8. Be comfortable using a computer and navigating online communication tools; basic knowledge of Microsoft programs is required.
9. Work flexible hours, including before and/or after business hours as needed.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of retail visual merchandising experience, including displays, shop layouts, visual props, and customer service.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Comfortable using power tools.
• Understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience in hardlines and/or softlines visual merchandising preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly: walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs.

Occasionally: computer work.

Seldom/Never: sitting.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Performs tasks under supervision, using established procedures and some innovation. Occasionally makes recommendations to improve work procedures, policies, and practices.
