OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations across the U.S., including stations in 14 of the top 15 largest DMAs and duopolies in 11 DMAs, such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Eighteen of these stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. The stations produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news weekly, distributing sports, entertainment, and syndicated content, and leveraging viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for FOX Network’s national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX 35 Orlando seeks a dynamic, engaging, and experienced journalist to anchor our weekend evening newscasts. The anchor/reporter will develop investigative content during the week, fill in for other anchors as needed, and collaborate with news managers and producers to plan and execute weekend newscasts.
We desire a proactive individual with a proven track record of asking tough questions, digging for stories, and producing compelling content for our broadcast and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be a standout reporter, respected by peers in the market, and will join a team of highly experienced journalists who are professional, polished, and community leaders.
- Read news stories and reporter intros from the teleprompter.
- Engage in scripted and unscripted interactions with team members and guests.
- Produce content and engage on social media platforms.
- Stay informed on local, national, and international news and issues.
- Report and write packages both on set and in the field.
- Write and edit news copy for broadcast and web.
- Organize material, determine emphasis, and write stories accurately and fairly.
- Gather and verify factual information through interviews, observation, and research.
- Meet all scheduling and broadcast deadlines.
- Review newscasts to ensure objectives are met.
- Contribute story ideas for daily and long-term coverage.
- Act as an ambassador for the station to foster public goodwill.
- Report to supervisors and assist with newscasts during severe weather or breaking news.
- Responsible for station equipment issued to the employee.
- Maintain regular attendance and comply with all station policies and computer requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regularly stand, walk, sit, reach, talk, and hear. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Able to lift up to 10 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, and focus adjustment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum three years’ experience as a reporter and/or anchor in a medium or large market preferred.
EDUCATION:
College degree in communications, journalism, or a related field preferred.
OTHER:
Good judgment, fair journalism practices, storytelling ability, strong writing skills, current events knowledge, excellent communication, teamwork, and computer skills.

Pay range: $90,000 - $101,854 annually, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location. Benefits include medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and others as per plan documents. Union benefits align with collective bargaining agreements.
