Animation Checker - Unannounced Disney Junior Series (Disney Television Animation)
The Animation Checker ensures the consistent and complete delivery of production material to vendor studios and controls quality to reduce post-production costs.
Responsibilities
- Check and confirm that all files, media, and information to be shipped are correct, complete, and consistent.
- Review storyboards prior to production using Storyboard Pro for missing or incorrect scene descriptions, character actions, camera moves, effects, and notes on each panel.
- Coordinate with Director and Production to include revised storyboard panels from the animatic, and with the Editor to adjust the animatic as needed.
- Ensure scene numbers, action notes, camera moves, effects, character names, notes, hook-ups, and lighting sources are correct on storyboards and X-sheets, and that all match each other.
- Verify character reactions, expressions, and actions follow standard walk/run cycle sheets, where applicable.
- If X-sheets are used, review lip assignments to confirm correct mouth charts.
- Review scene cuts to ensure they match the animatic; coordinate adjustments with the Director and Timing Director if discrepancies are found.
- Confirm the accuracy of camera moves, actions, lip sync, character names, abbreviations, hook-ups, effects, and scene and panel numbers across all materials.
- Create the final route sheet within Insight.
- Enter final footage and submit the checked work to Production for shipping to the vendor studio.
Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced skills on Mac/PC platforms.
- Familiarity with Storyboard Pro, Microsoft Excel, and Insight or ability to learn proprietary software quickly.
- Experience or training in traditional 2D, Harmony, and CG animation pipelines preferred.
- Attention to detail and high organizational skills are required.
- Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Openness to direction and adaptability to change.
