Associate Project Manager, Media Services (Ad Hoc), Disney Digital Studio Services (DDSS)
Disney Digital Studio Services (DDSS) provides on-lot creative and technical post-production services to filmmakers and Walt Disney Company stakeholders. Services include sound mixing, editorial rooms, theatre and screening room operation, and a broad array of digital file-based services supporting filmmaking, mastering, asset finishing, and distribution.
The Associate Project Manager, Ad Hoc Services will assist two Managers of Operations in supporting various ad hoc filmmaker services, such as coordinating clip pulls, creating screener files, preview DCPs, and remote collaboration services.
The APM must be technically knowledgeable, able to gather and understand business requirements, technical specifications, schedules, and workflows. The role involves coordinating with the digital operator team to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient delivery, and managing relationships with internal clients, stakeholders, third-party vendors, and Disney Digital Studio Services. The APM should excel in customer service, interacting comfortably with creatives and executives, and be flexible and creative in handling challenges and responsibilities, including routine matters in Managers' absence and improving workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Coordinate daily delivery priorities, forecast resource allocation, manage scheduling, status updates, reports, metrics, issues, billing, meetings, and operational schedules.
- Client Services and Partner Management: Build relationships with customers and partners, understand their scheduling needs, liaise with departments to ensure proper setup, and communicate proactively about schedules, work status, and costs.
- Process Improvement & Innovation: Identify opportunities to improve workflows and leverage new technologies to enhance efficiency and security.
- Support in QA and Mastering Services: Provide support as needed beyond core responsibilities.
- Work Order Creation & Billing: Create work orders and ensure accurate, timely billing, working with clients to apply correct rates.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mastering, File Prep, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of motion picture post-production and technical delivery requirements.
- Knowledge of DDSS workflows and services, with ability to learn industry-changing technologies.
- College Degree preferred (Media, Cinema, Post Production, etc.).
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and scheduling tools.
- Knowledge of non-linear editing systems (Avid, Premiere) and mastering tools (DVS Clipster, Colofront Transkoder, Resolve) preferred.
The salary range in Burbank, CA is $89,000 to $115,000 annually, with potential bonuses and benefits. Compensation will depend on experience, skills, and location.
