Overview of the Design Studio Specialist Role
You will inspire customers to express themselves through their home designs. You will assist customers and complete sales at the cash wrap, promoting continued engagement and strengthening brand loyalty.
Responsibilities
- Utilize design expertise to assist clients in store and in-home consultations regarding their living spaces to drive sales.
- Perform in-home consultations, including accurate measurements and assessments of the client's space.
- Create and present design plans based on client needs, style, preferences, and space constraints.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Assist customers with special services such as gift wrapping, gift registry, merchandise locating, catalog/internet orders, special and back orders, charge sends, courier deliveries, and furniture orders, demonstrating exemplary service standards.
- Demonstrate superior product knowledge, including features and benefits of the design studio assortment.
Criteria
- Strong communication, clienteling, and customer follow-up skills.
- Ability to coordinate complex large orders across various sales channels.
- Experience with design elements preferred.
- Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- 1-2 years of customer service and retail sales experience; specialty retail experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility on the sales floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 75 lbs., using proper equipment and safety techniques.
- Full-time associates should have open availability; part-time associates must work at least 15 hours weekly, including weekends and during the holiday season.
