A Lot About You

We are seeking an experienced health writer and editor with medical credentials (doctor, nurse, nurse practitioner, physician's assistant, or similar) to produce content in the physical health/conditions commerce space. Responsibilities include pitching and writing product reviews, comparison articles, best lists, and news or study-focused awareness pieces on topics like men's/women's health, pain management, arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, vision, hearing, dental health, medical devices, and seasonal illnesses.

You will collaborate with freelancers to assign and edit stories within specific health categories. The ideal candidate will have proven health writing and editing experience, a strong understanding of SEO, and a passion for creating trustworthy, engaging content. You will also update existing content to meet current editorial standards, identify and utilize expert sources, source products, perform product testing, and write across a broad range of health topics. Attention to detail and adherence to health-specific vetting processes are essential.

This position is fully remote or can be based at any Yahoo office in the US.

Responsibilities

• Pitch, write, and produce well-researched health articles promptly
• Update top-performing health content to ensure currency and quality
• Contribute to content for major health events and news
• Assign and edit freelance health content
• Create balanced, user-respecting editorial experiences
• Optimize content using SEO best practices
• Follow Yahoo's style and voice guidelines
• Manage product sourcing and testing for health content

Minimum Requirements

• Medical credentials (nursing, medicine, pharmacy, etc.)
• 5+ years of health content writing experience
• 2+ years of editing health content
• 2+ years of commerce content experience
• Based in the United States
• Strong copywriting, editing, and editorial judgment skills
• Experience working with CMS platforms
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and holidays
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and improve
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Team-oriented and proactive attitude
• Passion for health trends, products, and science

Additional responsibilities include adhering to Yahoo policies, exercising sound judgment, working inclusively, safeguarding brand integrity, and contributing to a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Yahoo offers flexible hybrid work options, with occasional in-person events. The salary range is $72,750 to $151,250 annually, depending on experience and location, with additional benefits including healthcare, 401k, education stipends, and more.
