A CMMI Level 3, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 27001 organization, ILS provides integrated services and flexible solutions to federal, state, and local agencies and private institutions. ILS is seeking a dedicated UI/UX Designer & Developer to support a large-scale project. The
UI/UX Designer & Developer
role is based in New York City and may involve on-site visits to the clients location within the city. The current work arrangement is HYBRID (remote work from home or at the ILS Headquarters in Fairfax, VA). Applicants should be willing and able to travel to the client site in New York City as needed. Responsibilities
Lead efforts to define, plan, and conduct user research throughout the SDLC, starting from the Discovery phase. Create research guides and conduct iterative user research. Outputs include journey maps, personas, and other artifacts to inform design and development. Create prototypes using Adobe XD, Sketch, InVision, or similar tools to develop iterative application flows based on user testing. Translate creative software design concepts into reality using front-end technologies. Qualifications
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
Expertise in conducting user research and producing related deliverables such as personas, journey maps, interview guides, mind maps, and research findings. Proficiency in standard UX/UI software like Sketch, InVision, and Adobe XD to create intuitive prototypes aligned with Human-Centered Design best practices and WCAG 2.X compliance. Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to develop responsive, browser-compatible prototypes and collaborate with developers on the view layer in MVC projects or similar patterns. Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript Experience with Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD Responsive design principles Understanding of Section 508 compliance
