Overview
The Design System Lead will help drive the vision and project management of a design system encompassing visual style, UI components, and other design concerns. The ideal candidate will adopt a systems mindset to build and integrate consistent, efficient components across the product portfolio. Emphasis will be on the complete systems lifecycle, from establishing a sustainable practice and vision to designing, building, documenting, and maintaining a library used by many product teams. Identify business, design, and development needs; define parameters for design system components, documentation, and governance; lead teams to create and deploy functional, durable design elements. Collaborate with the development team on the implementation of a React-based design system. Document design system components for implementation in the UX team’s workflow to ensure design consistency. Work with other designers and cross-departmentally with product and development teams. Analyze user research data to extract meaningful insights that inform the design process. Present concepts clearly to the larger product team and stakeholders. Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities
Hands-on experience contributing to design systems, including building adoption, guiding contributions, and maintaining component libraries. Expertise with design tools such as InVision, Sketch, Figma, or similar. Ability to anticipate and design for user needs by incorporating research, strategy, and analytics. Strong visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present, negotiate, collaborate, and build interpersonal relationships. Portfolio of design projects related to web and mobile applications. Experience with user data collection, usability studies, and user research is a plus. Proficiency in rapid wireframing and UI prototyping for interactive usability testing. Qualifications
Diploma required; vocational training or industry experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in psychology, interaction design, visual design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or UX preferred. At least 5 years of experience in design and front-end development with React and Figma. Proven experience understanding the intersection of user needs, technology, and business goals. Experience gathering and evaluating user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers. Travel :
10-20% Salary Range : $90K to $115K, based on internal equity, market, certifications, etc. Applicants from California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York City, and Washington are eligible.
