(OPH) Office of Public Health Job Description: Responsibilities: Health Research, Inc. is seeking an innovative and skilled Web Developer to play a pivotal role in strengthening the Office of Public Health's (OPH), New York State Department of Health, digital capabilities. The Web Developer will coordinate and oversee the design and implementation of user-friendly web content, collaborate with stakeholders to gather recommendations, and ensure accurate dissemination of public health information through a public-facing webpage. This position will also involve programming technical solutions and providing customer support to address user issues efficiently. The incumbent will stay updated on the latest web technologies to improve application performance and security, fostering a collaborative environment across OPH centers. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Information Technology, or a related field, with three years of experience in website design, development, and maintenance; OR an Associate's degree in a related field with five years of such experience; OR seven years of relevant experience. A Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience. Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience with front-end web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, RegEx, etc.). Expertise in back-end frameworks (Node.js, Python/Django, PHP, or similar). Familiarity with Content Management Systems (WordPress, Drupal) and web analytics tools. Strong knowledge of SEO principles and accessibility standards. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in providing technical solutions and customer assistance. Conditions of Employment: Grant-funded position requiring compliance with funding requirements such as reporting, deliverables, and contract obligations. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship is not available. Travel up to 25% may be required. The candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the work location and be willing to relocate to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts prior to hire.
