Job Description:
Small Power House Agency in Coral Gables is seeking a media strategist / public relations person to spearhead the agency's national broadcast, print and digital media relations for the global brands they serve.

This position entails client relations, developing and overseeing press & marketing strategies, securing ongoing media placements in both regional and national outlets, writing releases, crafting pitches, establishing and maintaining high-level relationships with clients. It will also involve developing and securing strategic brand partnerships, special events & marketing initiatives. This candidate will need to work well with others and really understand how to garner media

The ideal candidate will be:
• A self-motivated PR professional who seeks success, perfection and results
• A PR Professional with at least five years of experience in media relations
• Familiar with Cision or other media management tools
• An excellent communicator (written and oral). An amazing writer – one that knows how to craft pitches with news value and maintain desired positioning for clients. Someone who is able to verbally present ideas, stories and strategies with confidence, intelligence and thoughtful purpose. (AP Style)
•Must be on the pulse of media trend topics, themes, deadlines, issues, opportunities, etc., and knows how to leverage them to develop strategic story and campaign ideas for clients
• Must be comfortable managing campaigns, interfacing with clients and leading
• Must be a strategic thinker – someone who understands business objectives and knows how to seek and leverage opportunities, alignments and partners to develop creative branding ideas that help campaigns and clients stand out and have great effect for the bottom line
• HUGE plus if you are well versed in North East social, arts, events and philanthropic landscape and has knowledge of key industry players & influencers
• Ability to manage and execute media strategies and special events experience with lifestyle brands, food & spirits a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Journalism, English, Marketing, Communications or PR majors a plus
