Job Requirements JOB DESCRIPTION

Onion, Inc. is seeking an experienced VP of Consumer Marketing to grow the audience size, engagement, and reach of our premium content brands, The Onion, A.V. Club, and ClickHole. This role calls for an expert leader with strong knowledge of digital/content marketing, audience retention strategies, newsletter strategy, subscription management, PR, social media trends, web analytics and related technologies. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record creating content strategies and streamlining content processes to grow digital audiences.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop programs for promoting Editorial & Onion Labs content.
Continually identify and evaluate key marketplace trends and seek opportunities for Onion, Inc. to create relevant syndication and publisher partnerships and co-marketing offerings.
Oversee all content distribution, promotion, tracking and reporting.
Research and identify new sources of additional organic traffic.
Identify new opportunities to drive more traffic from existing sources.
Define, analyze and communicate key metrics and business trends for management, providing regular reporting and data support to key stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years of experience in related position.
Experience influencing content strategy and development based on digital data and analytics.
Proven track record of overseeing creative development and implementation of web sites of very large scale.
Fluent in social media best practices with a strong understanding of digital audience development.
Understanding of multi-channel networks, digital video production and how to create a digital video network.
Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
