Job Requirements OVERALL SUMMARY

HBO is seeking a Digital and Social Marketing Manager for HBO series. The ideal candidate has a proven success record in digital and social media marketing, ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, experience in community management including covering live events and has exceptional communication skills. This individual will report to the Director of Digital and Social Media Marketing and will be responsible for the execution of our digital and social marketing strategies.


• Participate in the strategic development of the digital voice and content strategies for multiple programming brands
• Manage the development and execution of digital and social media strategies, promotions, content and activations including the project management of microsites and applications
• Oversee the day-to-day Community Management of multiple programming presences including activating fans across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube (and any new platforms) – year round
• Participate in the performance media strategy and oversee the execution of all paid media efforts across Google, You Tube, Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr for assigned properties
• Successfully manage promotions and content development through strong collaboration within the Digital and Social Media team as well as across the company and outside partners
• Report on the performance of campaigns including developing insights and recommendations
• Develop campaign creative briefs and oversee the execution of creative and promotions agencies when applicable
• Partner with various internal teams to forward the use of social media throughout the organization
• Oversee the development and output of a Coordinator


• 5+ years experience in marketing for a Media or Lifestyle brand with at least 3 years in digital
• Proven experience spearheading digital/social promotions through entire campaign funnel including strategy development, content creation and reporting
• Established social media background including proven community management experience across Facebook, Twitter and other platforms
• Strategic thinker with creative problem solving and impeccable, persuasive writing skills
• Experience covering live events in an editorial or social media capacity
• Excellent presentation skills, both written (PowerPoint, Excel, Word fluency a must) and verbal
• Exceptional communication and relationship management skills - deep cross-functional collaboration is required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
• Experienced user of popular social publishing, reporting, and listening tools
• Strong command of web analytics, including Omniture
• Must be hyper-enthusiastic about ever-evolving social media trends, the digital landscape at large and the Media and Film Industry
• Some travel and nights/weekend hours required
• Bachelor’s degree required
