Job Requirements The Copyeditor will report to the Senior Copyeditor and be primarily responsible for the copyediting, proofreading, fact-checking, and editorial standards of brand materials. You’ll be part of a team that moves fast, and you’ll have the opportunity to support every member of it. You’ll get holistic knowledge of the business, and you’ll bring that to the projects you work on. You’ll be joining a group that prides itself on the excellence of everything they do, that respects and protects the integrity of world-class brands, and has fun together doing it. The right candidate will be highly detail-oriented and organized, intensely thorough, have excellent time management skills, and take responsibility for their work.

Responsibilities:

-Copyedit and proofread major brand campaigns, email copy, blog posts, marketing assets, and other key content across our businesses
-Ensure these items adhere to editorial standards and our house style guide
-Act as the last line of defense in checking quality of our brand materials and ensuring we are always putting our best foot forward
-Bridge and eliminate inconsistencies among our channels and categories
-Review copy and layouts for accuracy, fact-checking where warranted
-Perform these duties under tight and strenuous deadlines
-In collaboration with our other copyeditors, maintain the house style guide and contribute to the development and maintenance of other voice- and copy-related guides
-Collaborate daily with other teams, from design and editorial to legal, in order to produce clear, effective copy that adheres to our voice and style
-Be part of the daily asset process, aiding and smoothing out process inefficiencies along the way


This position requires:
-Experience with copyediting and proofreading under tight deadlines
-Expert-level knowledge of the English language, and the ins and outs of punctuation, phrases, and idioms
-Excellent collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
-Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style
Excellent time management skills and ability to jump between jobs at a moment’s notice- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
-Experience with WordPress a plus
-Fluency in proofreader’s marks
-Experience working with design layouts and identifying when a design doesn’t look right
-Ability to think (and write) on your feet and work with copywriters and editors to tweak copy when necessary
-Desire to learn new things and ability to learn them quickly
-Experience in fashion a plus
-Experience editing online content, particularly social media, also a plus
-BA in English or Communication Arts
-Fluency on a Mac
